Hi Emmanuel,

The “template” could affect the data collection process if by implementing the GA tracking code on a template not all pages are covered. But usually your template should cover all your pages. I recommend running a scan to see whether the GA tracking code is on every page of your site.

Best,
Paul

I am a blogger and recently implemented GA tracking code on my blog; but the data I am getting is far away below what it should be.

So, does template affect data reports by GA?

Weird stuff, never seen before. My suggestion is to add your comment to this post:

Annie is very knowledgable on campaign tracking and maybe knows where this issue is coming from. She promptly responds to comments.

I am happy to hear when it is solved!

However, on point #4, the problem with Events and Site Search is you can’t include them in your attribution model. So if you/your client wants to know the effectiveness of internal campaigns compared to external campaigns and judge it appropriately you’ll probably have to UTM tag them…

(I Wish I could create my own UTM code and ‘add that’ into the attribution model, that would be the perfect solution so it won’t disturb general UTM tracking).
