My response to nay Sayers is that you need a third party analytic company to sell advertisement to large companies. The facts are that large advertising agencies trust google analytics more than they will trust your privately hosted program like Piwik or Mint. If, you don’t plan on selling advertisement, on your website, as an additional source of income. Then, internal analytics shoud be a good alternative, but you will lose many of the add-ons that google analytics provide in their dashboard.
